Snooty Guy and Tarnished Swamp Monster

Here are a couple new character designs. The Snooty Guy idea just popped in my head and the Swamp Monster was created after playing with the Character Design Shuffle app by Stephen Silver. It's a very, very cool app to get some challenging design ideas and put some parameters/limitations on your work.

Keeping at it, staying loose. I love how quickly one can find a feeling/emotion in a quick 30 second or 1 minute gesture drawing.

Life Drawing, OHHH how I've missed thee!!!

I'm back baby! It's been quite a while since I did some good, old fashioned life drawing. I have hereby decreed that I will focus on life drawing on a weekly basis. I should have never stopped in the first place. Staying loose and focused is essential to growing as an artist. And besides, this is my most beloved form of drawing and it is SOOOOO therapeutic.

I plan to also get out and draw from real life and hopefully attend a live life drawing session or two. Feeling good!

Ryan's 1st BDay Invite!

Here's a design I came up with for my son, Ryan's 1st birthday invite. Working on this was a lot of fun, but actually very challenging since I had to simplify everything. My nature is to overwork drawings and design.

I sketched this one up for my daughter Skylar's 3rd Birthday. My son Ryan even makes a cameo as Lumiere. I had so much fun with it that I had to take it to color. I must say and this is probably obvious, artwork is so much more satisfying when your heart is involved. Cheesy, but true. :^)

BoPrints on Etsy Now Open!!!

Howdy all!
So, I recently created a store in Etsy and named it BoPrints. This all came about because I had designed three pieces of bathroom art for my daughter (at the wife's request). I thought, "hey, maybe these things would sell." That led me to an idea to create prints of the alphabet using animals contorted into each letter. I've finished three of the letters and the rest are on the way. Take a look at my site and spread the word if you likes what you sees. =)
